The following photos were taken at the Golden Gate Railroad Museum.
This 20350 Gyralite exhibited a circular beam path. The motor in the unit had
the appearance of the ones in the original 20585 Gyralites. The 20350 unit
had a gearbox that looked like the standard 80:1 double reduction gearbox that is used in the
20585 Gyralites. (It appears that the 32 volt 20585 and the 32 volt 20350 had identical motors and gearboxes.)
This unit was designed to advance and retract a red glass bowl over the mounted bulb
by means of a threaded rod. Rotation of the rod in one direction would advance the
bowl towards the bulb, whereas rotation in the opposite direction would retract the
bowl from its position over the bulb.
The photos of the unit with the bulb illuminated were taken at an angle to prevent
obliteration of the structure's detail by the intensity of the projected light.
